Make Peace With Yourself
Astrology isn’t your scapegoat
Eclipses, retrogrades, conjunctions, shifts that happen every few thousand years…the hype surrounding current astrological transits is high. But as we see major world events unfold, it’s important to remember the planets aren’t scapegoats for humanity’s issues.
Scroll down for details on our Eclipse Peace Activation on March 3rd.
As a professional astrologer for over 15 years I see the story of the stars playing out in real time, but as a human being it doesn’t feel right to minimize current realities by explaining them away using astrology.
This isn’t another article with a forecast for the current times; instead, it’s an invitation to make peace with yourself. Because when global powers are dueling on the world stage, and we’re asked to sit back and watch, claiming your energy is the power move. When leaders escalate conflict and headlines are deeply disturbing, it’s time to regulate yourself and be the peace you wish to see in the world.
Ultimately, this is an interruption of your feed, to remind you that you are made of stars. Feel your natural breath moving through your body. Imagine your cells collaborating to keep you alive. Feel the infinite amount of support buzzing in your DNA; witness the stardust that you are.
When you know who you really are and find peace there, you become a wave of difference in the world.
There is so much noise right now on the internet. I feel like a crusty old lady who’s been in the wellness industry a little too long, but I’m also excited about the enthusiasm people are putting towards the transits.
I remember when I first discovered astrology in 2010. Though I could guess people’s birthdays when I was a kid, I wasn’t raised with astrology or its framework. I was scrolling YouTube looking for some help in my love life when an astrologer popped up on the screen talking about where the planets are now, and something within me clicked. That started it all for me, and I remember in those days feeling so excited about Neptune in Pisces.
In 2011 that transit began, and I was telling anyone who would listen that everything would soon change. And it definitely did. But what I started feeling around 2017 was exhaustion with this transit. Feeling turned off by spiritual spice girls dressing up as priestesses and yoga teacher trainings appropriating ancient cultures, I wanted to leave the industry and go back to being normal.
Even though I wanted to, I couldn’t quit sharing my gift. In all honesty, it feels like this path chose me, and for a long time I ran from it. But then the pendulum would swing, I’d embrace building a spiritual business only to be left feeling like I was chasing success. Wanting (sometimes desperately) to go viral or writing for huge publications, only to have those opportunities vanish when I spoke up for myself. It felt like I couldn’t make it happen, or I wasn’t good enough, but all the while I kept telling myself to wait until 2026, because when Neptune would move into Aries, this whole industry would shift.
And here we are: Neptune has now shifted from the mystical energy of Pisces to the grounded, action-oriented Aries. Performative spirituality is inexcusable. Now, it’s all about the actions that you are taking and using power responsibly. It’s not what you say. It’s what you are actually doing, and more importantly, how you treat others.
There’s an exposure happening, and the spiritual popstars who have taken up the stage are having to pass off the mic to a new wave of leaders. These new leaders aren’t sitting above you; we’re actually all sitting cross-legged together, in a circle.
Humanity is facing major challenges that won’t be solved by new age spirituality. The time for real change is here, and it starts with you.
The ego is always going to want more, to do more, be more, have more, and now we need to keep ourselves in check. And maybe, instead of focusing on what we can “manifest,” let’s ask how we can be of service, how we can help (the next 1.5 years of eclipses are all about this), and how we can build a better world.
Making peace with ourselves is our best shot at peace on this planet. Because unregulated people escalate conflict, globally and individually.
Take your eyes off everyone else and ask yourself:
What do you actually want to do? Where do you want to make a difference? What do you need to change about your own life? Who are your people? What’s your community? What’s one small action you can take today? How can you trust yourself, even if it goes against the noise of everyone else? Even if it’s not instagrammable?
For me it’s simple: I want to be a part of world peace, write daily, move my body, eat healthy food, publish books (more on this soon!!), help my local community (this is the vision behind our Nicaragua retreats), and make friends along the way.
They say behind every overnight success is 10 years of hard work, and on my journey there’s been so much effort. I’m tired, until I remember all the wins that aren’t publicly shared or quantifiable.
Like the amazing connections in my life, which you are a part of. Success is sold to us as viral videos and monetization, but my most golden medal moments were when life rewarded me for trusting myself and finding peace.
Listen to your body right now. Do everything you can to stay regulated, and know it makes a massive difference. Even if you don’t know why you’re feeling something, you’ll usually figure it out later.
Like Shannon, circa 2013.
I was invited to a retreat with Deepak Chopra, called Seduction of Spirit, a name that now literally makes me feel sick, but back then I was so set on catching my big break and becoming one of the spiritual spice girls I admired, that I didn’t think twice about the name.
I graduated University and flew out the day after my final exam with an application and reference letters for a job opening at the Chopra Center. I thought everything was lining up for me, and soon I’d be living in Southern California with spiritual people who were just like me.
Instead, when I arrived, I was literally sick to my stomach at the thought of applying. It was devastating because I didn’t understand why. I chalked it up to being a loser who was scared of change. It was my fault. And after my trip ended I flew back to my hometown in Canada. But even though my mind spiraled, deciding to abandon the dream brought me waves of peace. My body knew something my ambition didn’t.
Then I was given the chance to start hosting meditation circles in my hometown. I set out to find spiritual people in Ontario, Canada. I thought it was a lost cause, until a series of synchronicities (as they tend to do) led me to someone who was reading my blog online. She thought I was a writer living in California, but there I was in her living room. It made me realize “being spiritual” isn’t a cool club only popular and elite people are invited to. And from then on, accessibility became my number one goal, because you never know who you’ll meet and what you’ll mean to them (and them to you!).
Making peace with myself led me to places I never imagined possible.
Funny enough, life ended up coming full circle when I got to Nicaragua, unknowingly arriving in a village called La California and Playa San Diego. So, who’s to say there aren’t unimaginable destinations for humanity on the other side of this confusion? The narrative of the planets definitely backs up this theory. We can do it. Peace is possible, and it begins with us being brave enough to trust ourselves.
Anyways, I could tell stories like these for days, and I’m sure you can too. Trusting yourself is never a waste of time, and sometimes it’s a lifesaver. I now 100% understand why my body didn’t want to work for Deepak Chopra before my mind could catch up.
It’s getting real out there, and our minds aren’t up to speed. But our hearts are.
In my heart all I feel is a call for peace.
Not manifesting my desires, not hitting goals, not going viral.
Peace.
When you hear someone’s experience, it puts yours into perspective. Sharing our stories helps us co-regulate, and when tensions are running high, storytelling becomes medicine.
What’s your heart experiencing? Do you need extra support? What do you have to share?
I want to know you and hear from you. Like that feeling of talking to someone who gets you, or working with a team of like-minded friends, something clicks and we feel better. When we’re in a community, our stardust comes together like a sparkling constellation.
To me, you’re not just a number, or a notification, you’re a friend, a human, and a soul. Together, we’re the construction crew rebuilding this demolished civilization. I don’t want to see pretty and perfectly curated accounts; I want to see your heart. I want to hear your pain. I want the real deal.
My heart’s open to you, and here’s an invitation to share yours with me too. I think creating is having a heart-to-heart with the stardust that you’re made of. When you’re aligned with yourself, life is a whole different game. So just imagine what’s possible if our energy comes together; it’s as brilliant as the stars shining across the sky.
The first step is making peace with yourself.
And that’s the theme for the next 14 years as Neptune moves through Aries, and it’s launching as an intensive journey over the next 2.5 years with Saturn there too. Remember, your body knows something your mind hasn’t caught up with yet.
Peace begins when we end the war with ourselves.
So take some time to tune into the night’s sky. Look upwards and inwards. Close your eyes and feel the humming of your stardust DNA. Let yourself melt away into the void. Turn off the noise.
Make peace with yourself.
And when you’re recharged, come back and share your discoveries with us. The world is a better place with you in it, and the collective mind is wiser because of what you’re learning.
I’m feeling a little more personal and letting that ripple into my work here on Substack. That’s why I’m sharing these stories, and asking you to share yours too. Post your recent articles in the comments, or send me a message. I seriously would love to hear from you.
If you are a paid subscriber, I am offering a 15-minute call with me. Just a simple human-to-human conversation. A space to connect. To check in. To let me know who you are, what you are creating, what is unfolding in your world right now.
This is not a big formal offering. It is not a strategy session. It is not a performance. It is simply a touch point. A moment of real connection in a world that can sometimes feel like endless scrolling.
Invitation to our Eclipse Peace Activation
Join us on Substack live for a special Eclipse Peace Activation with Shirin Hunt
Live on Substack Tuesday, March 3rd at 2pm EST/11am PST
Shirin Hunt has lived on the North Shore of Kauai for the past 28 years. Originally from Iran, Shirin created Women’s Global Peace Alliance in support of one of the fights for human rights in Iran in 2009.
Since then, Shirin has been holding weekly internal and global peace meditations live online, which you are invited to join (IG: theresetqueen). Shirin believes that when we have 9,000+ of us focusing on the peace frequency simultaneously, both internally and globally, we anchor in the peace frequency for all.
Her mission is peace on the entire planet with a special focus on the Middle East. Shirin has been a teacher and practitioner of the healing arts for 40 years. What she has learned from the Indigenous world through their prophecies is that the women of the Middle East will spearhead a transformation that will lead the world in its transformation.
When the Middle East rises in peace, the rest of the world can raise its frequency with more ease.
Shirin’s current focus is The Healing of Persia Project. This is a humanitarian project supported by a 28-year-old strong non-profit, INCF, to help the nation of Iran recover and heal after their tremendous efforts to bring freedom to the people of Iran. Their cost has been high, and this is our time to give back, to thank them for rocking the seat of civilization, so the rest of the world can rise.
