There's light in the sky, especially in the northern hemisphere, as we experience the brightest time of year during solstice season. The analogy I want to share is a sunflower opening towards the Sun. We're all invited to take inspiration from the sunny plant and reach to love. I drafted this email last week while on vacation. I wanted to have it out before June 21st, but instead of pushing myself, I decided to practice the message for these current energies: loosen up, let go of responsibilities and have fun. So, instead of posting, I ate a ton of delicious food, laughed till I cried, swam in the Sea, had a dreamy time and lived in the moment.
Now, I am staying at a friend's, and today was my first day "back to work." It was also the first day one of her sunflowers bloomed. That felt like a nod from the Universe.
Where are you trying to force goals or deadlines that may need breathing space? Where are you trying too hard? It sounds cliche, but ask yourself, where can you have more fun? The current energies invite us to create new systems built off of our feelings, not just our willpower and ability to force. The best game plan is to be natural and allow life to move through us. The same way a sunflower opens towards the Sun when it's the right time.
Many of our human systems are unnatural. How many hours do we spend under fluorescent lighting? What about the processed food we eat? I'm not saying we must abandon these modern conveniences and realities of life on Earth in 2024. Still, I'm encouraging you to take inventory, especially if something needs to change.
Are you shifting? Does something feel off? Do you want more or want to let go and have less?
Change becomes a lot scarier when we believe it's our job to manage it. What if, instead, your responsibility is to find a natural rhythm? What if you didn't try to fix anything wrong but focused on what feels right? Like adding more time outside, fresh foods, or swimming in some water? What if you meditate and visualize yourself in a forest? Do not underestimate how revolutionary connecting to natural elements can be for our human experience.Â
Please don't take everything so seriously right now. Reach for the Sun, like the sunflowers, and choose happiness. Celebrate the light, enjoy the warmth, go play or have a picnic. Focus less on your problems. Try experimenting by surrendering your struggles, thinking positive thoughts, or concentrating on something good.Â
We've all got passions, but don't become prisoners to them. They are here to make you happy, lit up and full of love, not burnt out from trying to make your dreams a reality. Stop trying and start doing what you love, even if that means taking a nap. Doing what you love is the most natural thing; it's the human equivalent of a sunflower blooming toward the light. Love is what we came here to do. What would happen if we believed life was that simple? What would that look like? The visual that comes to my mind is a field of sunflowers in full bloom. Imagine humanity like that, all the same species, but each doing their thing, being themselves and opening up to love. What a sight that would be.Â
A personal share… 2020 was "unprecedented" and brought a lot of firsts for humanity; in my life, it was the year I published my first book and opened registration to my first retreats. Scheduled to begin on March 13th, which ended up being the day lockdown began, I can't say that I actually hosted a retreat, but the vision was born, and there were people signed up and ready to do it!
Since then, my life has changed so much, and everything feels different, but today, I have started to play with the idea of hosting another retreat. The key word here is PLAY. Like a sunflower, I'm opening to the light of the concept.
If the current energies want one thing, it's for us to have fun and not take life so seriously. As a hard-working, Capricorn control freak (regarding my business), that's easier said than done. But I'm sitting here today, inviting myself to imagine how much fun we could have together, especially in my favourite country and home, Nicaragua. Does that feel fun to you? Would you be into it? Asking cause it's always better to have a group of friends along for the journey, and it feels like something is beginning over here in my imagination. Let me know if you'd be one of the sunflowers in that field by responding to this email or commenting on the post.
Hands down my fav way to reach towards to the Sun is meeting one on one with amazing stars like you! If you want to dive deeper, I've got openings on my calendar for one-on-one sessions, with availability for North American and European time zones.Â
I'm also blooming towards about my video subscription here on Substack; every other week, I send out a video (and transcript) of an analogy for the current energies. I never plan how those symbols will play out, but they have been on point! Read more about my video subscription here if you want to see more from me and support my work.
Love the idea of a retreat in Nicaragua!!!
