The time of year when we supposedly start fresh, set goals and resolve whatever needs fixing. But what if everything was as it should be? What if an area that seems off is just in transition? Like kinks working out below the surface? What if those extra pounds are here to keep us warm during the winter, or those debts were a reminder of our generosity this holiday season? Beating ourselves into new routines and rushing to clean up a mess isn't aligned with the current cosmic transits. The celestial bodies have a broader perspective.
Astrologically, the new year begins in March, when the Sun moves in Aries. This year we've got other monumental shifts occurring in March. Pluto changes signs for the first time since 2008, Saturn returns to a space it hasn't been in 28 years, and we gear up for new Eclipses seasons in April/October. I explain more technical details in my recent article on Medium. Medium is a subscription service, but I'm giving you the free friends link since you are here with me on my list.
January is not the grand opening of 2023; that's in March. Instead, January through March is like a movie trailer, tempting us to get tickets for what's "coming soon." You may sense a change or are ready for a new story. It's always a good idea to take inspiration and run with it. If you've got the drive to change, go for it. The planets aren't the ones doing anything to us; we are the creators.
Instead of trying to live based on an external cycle, what happens when we realize the stars are inside of us? After all, we're made of stardust. From that perspective exploring astrological cycles becomes a tool to validate what we already know. Not signposts we force ourselves to follow.
But, if you are feeling off, a little deflated and not ready for a brand-new start or diet, you are tapping into the stardust within. Now is a time to appreciate the movie in front of you. Don't miss the current feature film because the trailer for a new movie has you so excited for the future.
Acknowledge your growth over the last 15 years. Celebrate your accomplishments. You've got an invite to a premier coming to theatres this March. There's plenty of time to accept where you are at, fully knowing it's ok not to be ok. There's no need to rush yourself into a new existence. You already are all that ever is and has been. You are the Universe remembering itself. You are the star of the movie, and that's a pretty far out, sparkly, big deal.
I'm usually a Grinch when celebrating the New Year because I honestly believe our calendar is corrupted and incorrect. If you'd like an alternative perspective on this time of year, check out this article I wrote.
Thanks to everyone who already received a 2023 forecast and those booked in. It has been so fun, inspiring and a gift for me to do this work. I've got a limited number of slots open in January, February and March. I intend to support you star gazers throughout the end of the astrological year.
Sometime in March, I plan to take a hiatus from one-on-one sessions. If you have questions about a session with me (or anything in general), feel free to respond to this email. I would love to hear from you!
Love this. I was in a car accident last August and, although I am healing, I am finding it very difficult to get back to normal life, especially around things like diet. It’s good to know that some astrological shifts might make this easier.
Thank you so much for these insights.
As usual, you impress with your very apt analogies. I especially like the idea that January and February are previews for the big show in March!
Your insight is beautiful and profound.
