Anyone else tripping out on time? It's 2024, but it feels like I've lived a good four different lifetimes since January. Recently, I returned to a former home after being away for years. It felt like I had never left, while simultaneously feeling like I had died and been resurrected 800 times since my last visit. It’s got me thinking about time, and having conversations with others. Most people seem to be having similar experiences, like time is bending, shifting and not as it seems.
Also, I’ve been focusing on some exciting writing projects, which I shared on my TikTok and that’s another space when I feel how malleable time is. Sometimes, writing flies; others, it's a gruelling moment-by-moment slug to hit my daily goals.
My message for you today is an invitation to tune into a cosmic clock. Because time's flying, people are jumping timelines, and things just don't feel the same. The most unquestioned stuff I see in the world are clocks and calendars. We live by them every moment, yet never stop to ask why.
It’s time to look up at the sky, and allow the stars to be our guides, like the ancients did. Every day, I feel a deeper connection to what's already here. There's nothing new to learn, just a lot of extra junk to debunk and let go of. Our power and potential are simple; we don't need to do more or try to fit more things into our schedules or more hours into the day.
We’ve got an opportunity to rethink the timing of our lives. The Gregorian calendar is based on the physical math of a circle, but is time physical? It’s constantly morphing for me, and I can't grasp time in my hands. Are humans only physical? If we have dreams, ideas, and imaginations, how can we believe we are only our bodies? We unintentionally limit ourselves when we base life solely on the physical.
We are multidimensional, time-travelling, trippy, magic-making heroes if we want to be. We've just been sold a false idea of time. How do we shift this? How do we remove these shackles and unlock our kaleidoscopic star beam potential?
We can't eliminate time. If you've ever tried removing something from your life, you usually feel its presence more. For example, when we complain, we find more to complain about. When we try not to eat sugar, at least for me, I can’t get gummy bears out of my mind.
Say we want to eat less sugar, but instead of restricting ourselves, we eat more fruit. Over time, our tastebuds change, and the cravings die down. On that same note, we could sprinkle gratitude into our days and find negativity diffuses. This is how we introduce the cosmic clock, astrology or celestial cycles into our days.
You don't have to ignore time, but you can start paying attention to the sky. Watch the sunset and welcome the new day with a sunrise. Follow the Full Moon. Notice where Jupiter is in the sky and how it travels each night. Or take it a step further and live seasonally, eating local foods instead of imported luxuries. You could tune into the rhythms of your body's cycle, rest when needed, and act when inspired.
Astrology isn't about becoming spiritual to escape earth and physical reality. It's a way to integrate the stardust DNA dormant within us all. Bringing the cosmos to life through us. Tracking cycles and reflecting on seasons of growth in our lives is an amazing way to do that. Do it without expectation. Instead with a playful curiosity and openness, seeing how these glimmers collide with your waking dimensions.
2024 delivered new rhythms to reality; the current shifts are monumental, so it can feel like a whole new world, or maybe you're staring at the same world from a different vantage point. You're now on the top floor with a different view than the one from the ground. If you can't see anything right now, could you be in an elevator on your way to new heights? Don't force anything, but also take time to look at how far you've come.
Here's an example of using the cosmic clock to reflect and expand our viewpoints:
This time last year, we experienced a Venus retrograde. It especially effected relationships with self and others. Now, Venus has returned to the same area of the sky, this means she’s back to her previous battlefield, a place which could have been bloody last summer.
Pretend there's a memorial at this scene honouring our past warrior selves and the people we fought against or alongside. We have to let go of those previous versions of ourselves. Now is an excellent time to bring some flowers to the graves, bow to the monument, and pay our respect to our past selves. Appreciating that they granted us the freedoms we now have.
As you move forward into the coming days, be grateful you are here, breathing and still riding the waves. You're alive, and life is for living. There's no deadline, and all that external pressure from the calendar is an illusion. Time is multidimensional; the years will fly by, and life will be over before we know it. Live for each moment and soak up the sun.
Challenge the seriousness of time by playing hooky, leaving early, dropping the schedule, going outside, looking at the sky, and realizing that life is what you make of it. So, why not make some good times in the second half of the year?
Speaking of time, I’m back in a North American time zone with lots of openings on my calendar for one-on-ones!
"Shannon has helped me discover and maximize the unique lens through which I see the world. I used to struggle with self-sabotage and doubt, and would often just try and push through despite the pain because I thought that was what I had to do in order to have a successful life and business. I always leave a session with Shannon understanding how the energy of the universe is flowing, and I how I can use my free will to integrate with it. As a result, I feel empowered when I used to feel crazy, trusting when I used to be scared, and excited for the future, no matter what it holds. In these crazy times we live in, astrology is a language that we as humans all need to learn to speak. Shannon is my trusted teacher!" -Dr. Laura Hughes
