The analogy for the current energies beginning on August 1st is a rebellious teenager who starts to find their own style. There's kind of two folds here. First, the rebel within us who is carving out their own path. We’re choosing our own way and kind of finding ourselves while continuing to build a sense of self. This leads to more freedom in our lives for this new self and from there we can go on an adventure, to go do stuff, to go have fun.
When we're a teenager, especially a rebellious teenager, we find our unique styles. I keep picturing like a teenager who wants to dye their hair blue and wants to wear the grungy emo ripped jeans
This symbol of a teenager is about finding our own individuality and finding our style.
This period of time, so much about it is it's like finding your unique self, finding your funky self, creating your own trends, and giving yourself a makeover and reinventing yourself.
Saying, “you know what, I'm going to dye my hair blue, or I'm going to wear this color that I never wore before”.
Now, obviously, all of this isn't about literally changing the way you dress, though it could be, it’s about your identity and personality.
How you speak to people, and how you show up in your energy. You don't have to actually dye your hair blue to shift the vibe that you're holding.
Maybe throughout your life, you've been someone who enters a room and asks, how can I help? Where do I fit in?
Whereas this is a time where you walk into a room and focus on how those people can help you. The way a teenager can often feel a sense of entitlement. I walk into the room and look at how those people are lucky I’ve showed up to the party.
That's just an example, it's this idea of shifting our presence and having fun exploring new styles. These new styles, these new trends that we are creating can happen on an energetic level, can happen on a frequency level.
The energy that we are embodying is the outfit that we're wearing. And if we wanna get a little rebellious, and differentiate ourselves from the crowd, we can do it from a frequency place. By focusing on what we're thinking about, what we're feeling in our hearts and what we are energetically radiating.
There's a reason for our style. There's a reason our teenager wants to dye their hair blue. And so we also really have to look at the things we like. What are the feelings that we're drawn to? What makes you you?
And owning that.
I feel like there's something here about nostalgia. We do have a Mercury retrograde coming in. Almost looking back at our life and saying,
“I really loved that song when I was a teenager”. What's the vibe of the song? Maybe it's, you know, a heartbreak vibe, and you still cary that depth to you, and now you want to integrate that part of yourself into your life.
When you were a teenager, what were you excited about. Now it’s a time of digging inot that, like mining for gold. Yes, this is this time of reinventing ourselves, But it's not so much about recreating.
There’s a difference here because in this energy, we are peeling back the layers to discover our true unique style. Like the teenager who has to take off the school uniform to uncover what they actually want to wear.
We too have to peel back some of these uniforms we've been told to wear to discover ourselves again. We're not exactly creating something new. I mean, you can do whatever you want, but it really feels like this energy of finding ourselves isn't so much about finding something new, but instead peeling back something that has always been there.
There's this ancient tone. There's this, the gold that has always been inside of you. And now we can mine ourselves. We can mine down looking at different things that have made us happy throughout our lives, different experiences, different pivotal moments, to find the keys.
What have you been naturally drawn to your whole life?
What is a thread that just pulls your heart gently and gracefully? Is it a feeling, is it a place, is it a person, is it a book, is it a story?
There's all these gold nuggets in here but they're authentic to you so you don't have to go shopping for them you don't have to try to find them from someone else. The teenager is going to create their own trends we don't have to follow someone else's trends. This is the rebellious teenager not the teenager who wants to fit in with everybody. This time is about rediscovering ourselves and what has always been inside of us.
When we are in a teenager energy, we're just trying on lots of different things. The teenager is not making long term decisions or commitments.
It's just a phase.
It's just a fad.
So you can have fun with this energy and know that there are different outfits and vibrations and spaces and places and people and faces to try on. Have fun rediscovering your style.
And you don't have to hold on to any styles that you outgrow.
More than anything else, it’s a time to enjoy yourself. We've got New Moon in Leo. Sun's moving through Leo. We've got Mercury retrograding. We've got Mars and Jupiter coming together in Gemini. It really just feels like what's the number one energy of a rebellious teenager?
They want to have fun. At least teenage Shannon did, she just wanted to get out there and make friends and own her freedom, laugh, have good times and not answer to anybody.
There's this expression and this exploration of ourselves and our style and how we show up in the world. But also at the end of the day, I hope we have fun with it. Let's anchor into playfulness in these periods of time and not taking life so seriously.
